A sense of value in his soul has been stripped from him and replaced with a warped sense of right and wrong. Man has forgotten what it means to suffer, and he hardly remembers how those suffered before him. Appreciation for these little things has long been abandoned, while respect for art, poetry in particular, has been set aside and left behind for the more modern, so-called beautiful things that this world offers.
