The Powder and The Pen

Life seemed to bring nothing but misery for Erick Gallander. Born and raised in the bustle of Chicago, Erick was abused and mistreated as a child by the cruelty of his own father. To deal with the constant stress of the beatings he took daily, Erick began doing drugs of the worst kind he received from his fellow classmate, and eventually, gang members. Erick finds himself lonely, alone, desolate, and longing for something more in his life.

Then he meets Ashley Bennett.

Although Erick’s life was one of hardship, he had always maintained a dream of writing and being an author for years. Writing had been his only other comfort aside from the drugs he did, and with Ashley in his life, he began to realize that his dream could come true. But will the evil, dark past of Erick overtake his heart and prevent him from finally escaping his current life, or will goodness start to melt the coldness that has slowly surrounded his soul?
